SPX Fitness

I met the creator of SPX fitness, Sebastien Lagree, over 3 years ago while visiting Los Angeles.  I had read about SPX in a magazine as being the latest celebrity workout of choice and was immediately intrigued.  It is a pilates-based workout that incorporates strength training moves and cardiovascular training.  I decided to give it a try as I am always up for something interesting and different.  Right away I was hooked.  I got an amazing workout and boy was I sore the next 2 days!!!  I soon met Sebastien and he told me that he started SPX as a progression from teaching regular pilates.  He found that most of his clients hit a plateau with traditional pilates and it was hard to move them past that point.  He had a bodybuilding background and decided to incorporate his knowledge of weight training to the pilates workout.   Hence, the evolution of SPX.  It is an intense workout that is efficient and yields immediate results.   It is not for the faint of heart.

I was already offering pilates at my studio and wished that I could somehow incorporate SPX into my class offerings.  When the opportunity arose for me to open a second location, I immediately knew that I would bring SPX to Texas.  It has been a little bit of a challenge introducing SPX to Houston as no one has ever heard of it and many pilates people are so used to the traditional pilates routine.  SPX is so different but in a great way.  It burns lots of calories and burns fat.  You are using your entire body the entire workout and there is little to no rest.  Most people lack intensity in the workouts, which is why they don't see the results.  This workout is packed with intensity.  It is also a great workout for men who are looking to strengthen their core while getting a challenging workout.  Sebastien ran an 8-week challenge for participants who only did SPX 3 times a week and he charted their results.  The results were astounding!  Go to sebastien.tv to see the program in its entirety.

If you are looking for a new type of workout and one that is challenging and yields results, you should look into trying SPX.  Our website is http://www.studiosculpt.com/ for more information on class times.  The first class is free to new clients.
